Preparation Strategy

What was your study Plan?

I gave equal importance to both theory and solving MCQ’s. At the beginning I  spent most of my time studying theory and strengthening concepts. In the last 2 months spent more time on MCQ’s and revising high yield topics.

How many hours did u study ?

I studied on an average 8-10 hrs per day

Your tips for success ?

I feel it is very important to concentrate in class and grasp most of the concepts and facts during class. This makes preparation and revision very easy. It is also imperative that we solve the last 4-5 previous year question before appearing for an exam as it gives an idea of the type of questions that they ask and gives a direction to our preparation

During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

Yes i did. But we have find ways to pull through. Talking to seniors who have faced similar situations and our friends can help us through this.

How much time do you think one requires for serious preparation for this examination ?

I started preparing only in April. So i guess 8 months of quality preparation is needed.

When did you seriously start preparing for this exam?

I started preparing seriously in April.

Did you face the problem of volatile memory? If so, how did you deal with it?

Everyone faces the problem of volatile Memory. Solving Mcq’s and repeated revision from our own notes will help in this regard.

What was your daily timetable during the preparation? Were you able to stick to the timetable strictly?

I didn’t have a strict timetable.I’d plan to finish the subjects as soon as the class for that particular subject gets over and since we have 4-5 days between classes ,it is possible to do so provided we paid attention in class and took notes. If this is followed we would have finished studying all the subjects by October and gives us ample time for revision.

What is your advice to the future aspirants?

Each one should find ways to prepare in an effective way and keep it simple. Dont listen to many people and change your pattern of preparation. Once you feel that your method of studying is working for you stick to it.

Which books did you read for the theory part?

ADrPlexus provides us with the necessary theory books. These theory books will help in better understanding of certain concepts and is Supplementary to notes.

What was your strategy for the exam day?

Nothing in particular. I revised certain topics that are very volatile such as IPC sections on the morning of the exam.

What was your style of answering question. Whether you started from question

no 1 and ended with 250 or started from middle of the question paper.

I started with the first ended with the last question. I dont spend more than 30 secs for each question unless its a numerical.

Did u undergo the phase of depression. How did u overcome it?

Yes, talking to good friends , relaxing and taking my mind of studying helped me overcome it.
